Default Heater

Does the XC60 D5 have an auxiliary heater? It seems to pump out warm air very quickly in the morning.

Wait 'til winter and the ambient temperature is less than zero, not quite so quick then

I can now confirm that the 2013 XC60 DOES have a auxiliary matrix heater as part of the UK spec. Its the best thing ever, 30 seconds after start up you can feel the cabin getting warm. Can't wait to try it on the Continent this Christmas! Roll on -20c

Is this definitely standard in MY13. I don't have it on my MY12, and mine doesn't heat up that quick.
It's mentioned in MY12 manual as an addition as follows: "In a semi-cold1 climate zone diesel-driven cars have an electric additional heater instead of a
fuel-driven version."

Unless they now class UK as a semi-cold climate!

And that is exactly what it says in the MY13 handbook also (BTW - same statement in 2010 handbook!)

As you say, perhaps we are now in a semi-cold climate, or perhaps the car has been purchased with a non-UK spec?

I wish they did have this heater, takes (seemingly) ages in the winter for it to heat up and clear the windscreen

Gotta say mines a pain in the buttocks.
Last year SWMBO was moaning all the time about being cold to start with, although it was lovely and warm after about 15 mins.
I guess I'll have to drive around for 15mins then pick her up

Spoke to the main dealer about this when I was in this afternoon and he stated that it is not standard on UK spec vehicles.

I would be very wary of these adverts and what you actually get as the detail you are referring to is the automatically provided information that eBay supplies when you type in the description of what you are selling - hence they all say they same thing

I have yet to find an automatic description that is completely accurate for anything that I have sold through eBay and I never include them on any listings that I create.

The phrase caveat emptor comes to mind and must be borne in mind for any eBay purchase.
