Default Considering chopping in the mrs xc90 ...

its 2005 SE.

So far I fancy either a used Disco 4 or used RR Sport. My other consideration is the new shape Santa Fe (top of the range model.

Would appreciate any comments from people who have owned any of the above along with running costs.

Avoid range rovers or discoverys they are seriously troublesome my mate works in a land rover garage and he has no good words for them! The Santa fe is a strong car but lacks a quality cabin for the price my father in law had one and it was fantastic other wise but just very noisey at higher speeds (tyre noise)am afraid if it was me it would be a q7 or cayenne or wait for the new xc90 at the end of the year?!

My brother had a look at the new shape Santa Fe and was quite impressed, though with the third row of seats up he said the remaining boot is smaller than in our XC90.

A few years back my sis-in-law bought an ex-display Disco. Before she bought I suggested in may not be a good idea, due to a mate who bought one as a retirement prezzy to himself & regretted it big time... He ended up selling at a big loss....

Sis-in-Law expressed my concerns to the dealer.... his reply was "Oh not another 'disco hater' yes they had a poor reputation in the early years but all that is behind them now".

She bought it anyway...... after 2 years of electrical niggles and more time with a courtesy car than the Disco........ All was sorted then whilst on a journey with the kids, the car filled with exhaust fumes.....

She now has some model of 4x4 Audi!
