Angry xc60 Lead times

I ordered my xc60 on 20th April and have been given a deliver date of 9th October. Does anyone know of any specific hold ups on the productions lines? 5.5 months seems very excessive.

Ordered start of April, delivered start of June. Seems a long wait unless you want an R design or the factory has shut for the holidays.

ordering a car with a few extras the general delivery period I have
had is 6 - 8 weeks
I would have allowed up to an additional 4 weeks
given the changes to the car.

Who is the dealer? (please don't say arnold clark)

Ah just looked at your post again. I'm sure I read somewhere about
delays to R-design cars

Have you asked your dealer why it is such a long delivery?
If not then phone them tomorrow and enquire.

I heard the new "bucket seats" in the MY14 where causing a delay until September...also I think an August holiday period slows output significantly as well...

Get the dealer to give you day , date and delay reason...when spending good money you want good communications from them...

Response from dealer: -

"We at branch level cannot explain why, this is a production decision, however the R Design specification is now built specifically for the UK market only. Whereas the SE and Se/Lux cars are built for the world market, so of course they will complete first.

I can only surmise that once the factory return after their 4 week holiday, the production of the ordered Se and Se lux models will finalise and then they can then set about the run for the R Designs, it could be that there are changes needed to the production line to facilitate the production of this range, I really don't know.

I also ordered mine (R Design) in April and was originally given a June delivery date. This was then moved to August. This week I've been advised that it is due to be delivered to the UK on 8th August so fingers crossed.....
