S40 1.8 for sale near Leeds - open to offers

1997 'P' S40 1.8, blue. Family owned since new, 64,894 miles. Has been religiously serviced despite low annual mileage. Full service history, has a wad of old MOTs and service reports. Winter pack (heated seats, headlamp washers and protectors). New cambelt 2 years ago at 55k. Two keys and two remote control fobs. One or two supermarket car park dings but otherwise the bodywork is in excellent condition. Has been garaged all its life. Has been on a SORN since June last year but is in perfect running order and I've reversed it out of the garage every couple of months to run the engine for a while. MOT expires imminently THIS FRIDAY 7TH FEB. Selling now because we need the garage back! Would make somebody a great car. Please ask if you have any questions. I am just off junction 47 of the M1 near Leeds.

Rough idea of price you have in mind?

Id be interested for the missus, but no tax or MOT means a pretty low offer...don't want to offend....

Yeah the MOT date had crept up on me, with the car being tucked away in the garage I hadn't realised it was so close. I'm looking for around the £400 mark. If I don't sell it before the MOT runs out I guess I'll just get it tested again. I'm in and out today so if you'd like to come and see it send me a PM. Thanks for your interest.

Do you know of any issues with the car? Brakes, consumables, and so forth? Also is it a volvo engine or a GDI?

The last MOT had 3 advisories - it said the front pads were wearing thin, so they'll probably need replacing now as the car was used for 4 months after that. It also says there was 'slight movement at a wishbone pin or bush' and 'slight play in a ball joint'. Apart from that, I know of no issues - the car was in daily use with no problems at all, until last June when I put it away in the garage (I stopped using it because I had just gained use of a much newer car). Its the Volvo engine, not the GDI one.
