Noise in steering column.

Hello, new Volvo owner reporting in.

I have just bought a 2013 XC60 D5 Se Lux geartronic and trying to get to know the many features and little foibles.

I have noticed a noise like a flap operating in the vicinity of the steering column which I don't remember from the test drive.
It happens when I put the key in and press the start button, and the again when switching off and opening the drivers door.

Does anyone/everyone else get this, and can anyone tell me what it is?

That's the one. Haven't got to that page in the manual yet. Even my Lexus didn't have an automatic steering lock.
