P0032 error still there after replacing sensor
I have just replaced front lambda sensor with a tested one I bought online that wasn't new but after resetting code it has come straight back, is there a way to test the sensor myself or could something else be causing the fault code to come up? thanks

When my front sensor failed on my 2000 S80 170 I was advised by others on this site that the engines and the management system are incredibly fussy about getting exactly the right sensor for the particular year/engine otherwise the light would not go out. So I bit the bullet and got a genuine Volvo one from RUFE (on this site) and it went out and stayed out. Maybe the sensor you have isn't compatible with your engine?

sensor is exactly the same, same code on it and says volvo denso on it too so definitely the correct one

DTC P0032 refers to the O2 sensor heating circuit. Check to see if the is voltage present at the O2 heater sensor circuit with engine running and test it for voltage drop. The circuit is ground side switched with a PWM signal via ECM.

In that case I am a bit stuck - have you tried a complete re-set. Engine off for about 15 mins and then disconnect the battery for a couple of hours?

had battery disconnected for a while a few weeks ago but not since replacing sensor, how do I test it the heater circuit voltage, what pin/wire colour do I need to check?

You need to test the resistance of the sensor heater circuit.
This thread maybe useful: http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showth...ghlight=walker |

couldn't find much useful on that thread, link on doesn't work either, don't know how to go about testing it, electrics is the one thing I hate on cars lol

Post 5 of the thread gives the resistance of the sensor heater = 1 ohm, and the wire colours, black.

I've just checked both sensors by testing both the black wires on the sensor with a multimeter and there's no reading at all as if the circuit is broken in them, can someone confirm that this means they are both faulty heater elements in them before I get onto them to return it tomorrow, thanks
