Hot start problems with volvo 460
I have volvo 460 1980 1721 cm3 B18FP engine.Lastly I have start engine problems.
When the engine is cold in the morning everything is ok, but when i switch the engine off and after a few minutes I want to restart it, the engine speed fluctuates at 400-800 rpm for 3 seconds and then stabilises. Sometimes after a few hours I neede to press the acceleration pedal to max in order to start the engine. But next day in the morning when the engine is rreally cold the car starts immediately. Moreover I found some diagnostic codes: 2.3.2 3.1.3 4.1.2 Please if anyone has the same or knows what it is I would be very grateful. Thanks |

Warm starting problems
HI,
I had this problem with a 440 1.8 It turned out to be the brush in the distributor cap that was worn beyond limits, thus the spark was having to jump to the rotor arm, and this was causing the problems starting when the engine was warm, but it ran fine when it was cold! Hope this helps. |
