D5, changing the front lower engine mount
Hi all
I plan to change the front lower engine mount, will I need to support the engine when I undo the fixings for the existing mount? |

Yes, the Heinz manual gives you a good procedure. Trolley jack under the sump, if memory serves me right. About 2 hours or thereabouts.

Quote:
No engine support is required because it's not a mount as such, more of a buffer/movement restrictor.

Replacement went smoothly, I could get enough access by driving the front wheels onto 6" x 3" planks. Original torque restrictor mount was heavily worn, we'll see if that reduces the annoying "bang" when starting from cold.
