Did mine 2 years ago, got the bulbs and little blue hats from this forum (V40Alex http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showth...ght=dash+bulbs) cost less than a £5 for the lot!

I replaced all my bulbs about two years ago with bulbs from Alex. Only one has blown - in the info centre switch. All look original when the dash is illuminated. Some of the bulbs just slide in the holders and the contacts just wrap around the holder - these were easy to replace. I didn't get on with the soldered ones - but my lad who works in IT and telephony did the soldering - well it is what he does. My farmer boy fingers were far too hornyhanded for such delicate work.

I have since been told you can do the headlight cluster ones without soldering, apparently you just drill a couple of 1mm holes into the bit where the current bulb wires go through and then wrap the new wires around the holder as per the smaller bulbs. It sounds easy but I haven't tried it myself, I'll have to dig out some old holders and have a go, then add it to the guide.

ITS, I sell hardly any of the smaller bulbs (i.e. I've got loads of them!) so PM me your address and I'll send you a replacement, you qualify for special warranty status .

That is very decent of you and much appreciated. I'll send you a pm.

So reassuring to purchase an item at a tenth of the cost of Volvo parts and get a no quibble guarantee that last ten times longer than Volvo's warranty.

Looks stock to me, the job was fiddly and soldering is not my strong point. I dont really remember doing it but there is a solder sucker in the cupboard so looks like i did do it. EDIT as it floods back..... i killed one holder so that says a lot.
