Question

Hi Matt, Just a long shot but would it be the wipers themselves lifting off at that speed and creating a high frequency oscillation giving you a buzz!,

In the 480 this is a common problem with the black bit of plastic that sits in the bonnet next to the windsreen coming loose. If the 440 has this then i would suggest this. Try duct taping it from the underside or silicone sealing it in place.

If the same is more in side the cabin try dismantling the dash around the instrument cluster/radio/switches. It should be one big piece of plastic. Now check that all the mounting holes are in good condition and if so reassemble and make sure all the screws are done up tight.

Hope this helps.

I get the same problem. The noise is infuriating isn't it, similar to Barry White playing a kazoo!

I have been suspicious of the black plastic thing that guitarcarfanatic mentioned for a while, this is the only thing it can be as I have been through the motions of removing the dash, taping the wipers down, refitting the heater matrix etc etc etc all to no avail, save yourself the hassle and try this option first.

Let me know how you get on.
