... mine's stopped working. Are there any quick fixes I should try, or am I going to have to get another unit? If I do need a new unit, does anyone out there have one going cheap?

It's quite often the multi-connector supplying it. I had this problem on all my 480's. My dealer used to solder the connections together in the plug, that always stopped it happening again.

Don't solder the connections together! However, you should resolder the PCB once you open of the info centre! 99% of the time this will fix it.
