Default Best hubs for my 940

After all the classic part chat I thought I'd open this one to see what people think

Replacement hubs with abs ring from Volvo are priced at £469.68 for the pair. ( not going to name who but a well known to the forum dealer )

Based on that I'm thinking good aftermarket

Any suggestions ?

Hmm, I bought some a few years back (maybe >5) I got a couple of sub-standard units first, maybe £50, I remember 1 had a shorter bearing in it. Returned them.

The next level up was something like £70, these where much better, and I have had plenty of good service from them.

Mainly buy 'premium' grade parts, this seems to be a thing in the industry. Obviously try to buy a decent brand. Look to spend in the region of £100 per unit.

Replace the disk guards at the same time and allow time for de-rusting and painting of the bottom end of the strut
.

Struts have been refurbished

I'm thinking SKF could be good or just replace ABS ring. Don't really want to put 23 year old hubs back on all my other new parts though

Found my old post, avoid GSF 'standard' quality.

As it is a bearing the brands worth bothering with are

SKF, FAG, INA and Timken. For the hubs the first 3 are most likely

As long as the old hubs aren’t damaged then reuse them with new bearings, maybe have them blasted

I'm not sure you can fit new bearings in the front hubs

Fairly sure you're right Mark, if memory serves there are three different types of front hub/bearings fitted to the 7/9xx and most of the different ones are on the 7xx, the later 7xx and from what i understand, all 9xx have the later type that aren't renewable.
