I guess you don't use the car much these days ? If the car battery goes low in charge, it may trigger the immobilizer, which in turn may try to 'talk' to the keys. I suggest 2 things: use a trickly charger to keep the car battery topped, and secondly, keep the key fobs inside the house as far you can from the location of the car, and you can also try keeping the keys inside a "RFID signal bag" like this one https://www.amazon.com/Faraday-Prote...7648245&sr=8-1

Thanks but i am using the car everyday to take the dog to aplace to walk its about a 10 min drive and its all on electric as its a T8 so the engine doesnt even start most days.
Its parked outside and plugged in to hybrid charger im not plugging it in trickle charger as well thats just silly. i could check just once how well charged the main car battery is by putting it on my ctek charger which trickles my AC cobra I do keep the keys indoors away from the car ive tried an experiment to press the key buttons from where they are stored and the car doesnt react ie the car cant see the keys from where they are stored... Thanks for the suggestion... |

There are some posts that share similar issues and suggest the fobs are faulty; however, unlikely both of yours faulty so perhaps the batteries themselves are not fit for purpose - have you tried a different source?

Make sure you purchase good brand batteries. Cheap button cell batteries do not last nowhere near as long.
Here's an FYI: the batter number describes the size: CR2025 is 20mm diameter, 2.5mm thick CR2032 is 20mm diameter, 3.2mm thick Watch out you do not fit a CR2025 into a slot designed for CR2032 PS: I do not know what battery the key takes... the above is just examples

If you have gone through many batteries from various sources and observed the same symptoms each time, and also done the usual precautions of ensuring batteries are fitted properly, have never had finger grease on them (corrodes the battery contact points), and the battery terminals are nice and clean in the remote, then try this:
Do a A-B comparison, with one set of keys left at home, on a shelf, untouched. This is set B. And the other set, set A, stays with you all the time and is in daily use. Make notes on paper, with dates, and check key A and key B once a week to see if they operate the car. Perform also a range test: Walk away from the car to the furthest point that the remote operates, and note that point. Use key A and key B, taking notes. After a period of 2 to 3 months read your notes and see if anything changes between key A (in daily use) and key B (unused). This will help you to correlate belief with fact. Maybe you may make some important observation.
