Default Parts list for Tugboat noise fix

Hi all,

I'm finally getting round to fixing the 'Tugboat' noise from my 206 D5 by changing the soft tappets/lifters bought from a fellow forum member.

Looking at the list of parts to replace I have the following:

Tappets/Lifters
Rocker Arms
Camshaft seal
Injector 'o' rings (copper ones)
Timing belt whilst I in there (maybe idler and tensioner)
Camshaft cover gasket

Does anyone know if I need any other replacement parts/gaskets etc
Thanks

You sound like you know what you're doing, so ignore me if i'm teaching you to suck eggs!

Our 2003 D5 was making a tugboat/chuffing noise and it turned out to just be a vacuum leak (engine mounts gone bad). Have you checked this?

Hi Ripmax,
Thanks for your comment.
Yes I've been through the vacuum system. New vac pump seals, front and rear engine mounts replaced.
You know what they say, never a silly question, only silly answers
