Default power system service urgent v70

hi guys i have a 2005 v70 d5 euro 3, 2.4 a red power system came on my dash i checked the battery voltage was 12.8 and dropped to 11 when running so i fitted a nappa alternator and the warning has come on twice since then gonna fit a new aux belt but have read about the ecu controling the voltage not the regulator any thoughts on this thinking they might have given me the wrong alternator also have a bluetooth device thats hard wiered and is on all the time but i will switch that to a 12v switchable source tommorrow any ideas appreciated

Have the battery load tested.
Have the codes read.
Using a competent reader is preferred but a good generic reader might be enough.

Remember: After sitting overnight
12.8v = New Battery
12.5v = 3 year old "in-service" battery
12.3v = Look for sales for replacement battery
12.2v = FAILED BATTERY

After start up = 13.5v - 13.8v

after start up im getting 14 to 14.2 ill check the battery tomo after ive left it over night

A 2005 (facelift) V70 uses a different but visually similar alternator to pre facelift and they are not interchangeable.
First job would be to check part numbers for compatibility as it's not out of the question that the wrong alternator has been supplied and fitted.

Also check the brush pack on the old alternator as it may be just that that needs changing rather than needing a whole new alternator.
