Default Intermittent electrical fault

A bit of a strange one. V70 D5 Gen 3 2008 model with geartronic. The car will drive fine for about 40 minutes and then multiple and fairly random warning lights start appearing this includes brake warnings and airbag warnings, the radio/HVAC turns off, and at its most extreme the speedo and rev gauge read zero, sometimes the indicators stop working. After 20 minutes or so it all comes back online and the car will be fine for a few hours. Harsh acceleration or braking can trigger the warnings,, and the issue has been worse in cold weather. On one occasion the car went into limp mode and was limted to thrid gear. Otherwise it has continued to drive fine whilst the lights are on. Lots of codes when the fault is present, but the only permanent one relates to the High Speed CANBUS. I have checked all the contacts I can find, and an indie garage has been over all them as well and cannot find a faulty connection or chafing wire. If feels as though it is a dry solder joint on a PCB somewhere that loses contact under acceleration or at particular temperatures. Garage reckons the fault may be on the DIM and my next move will be to send this off for diagnosis. Any thoughts?

Random codes can be damaged cable harness under the bonnet or water came in cabin. Check both. My harness was damaged but luckily mech saw it on time before went crazy

Thanks, no water in the cabin and I cannot see any obvious chaffing of cables. Of course if the chaffing is inside the loom then it will be almost impossible to find.
