Default Auto Start not working from App (Sensus)

First time using for some time try’s to start but eventually times out. I am sure I saw a post a while back on this but can’t seem to find it. Is this common experience with Sensus cars currently? Was there a solution?

I used the app to pre-heat (but not start) the car on Monday afternoon without any problem.

I've been wondering about this. If I use a timer, from the app to pre-condition the car, it seems to use the aux heater, heated seats and steering wheel. But, if I use the app to start the preconditioning manually, it asks me whether to start the car (which i assume to mean the engine) and If I select no, the pre-heat doesn't happen. Is this right, or am I misinterpreting?

I've looked in the manual, but it doesn't seem to mention it.

I have the fuel-fired auxiliary heater whereas you have electric pre-heating.

Using the app I select pre-conditioning and when it asks whether to start the car I say 'no'. This pre-heats the car without the engine running. Saying 'yes' starts the engine and this is required if I want to pre-heat the seats and steering wheel as well.

It may be that electric pre-heating behaves differently?

Mine has a fuel-fired auxiliary heater, it doesn't use electric to pre-heat (it confuses me no end!). If I set the timer, it heats the cabin using the aux heater (in cold weather, I can see smoke coming from the wheel arch), and presumably seats and steering wheel using the hybrid batteries?

It's currently charging, so I've just gone on the app and started the pre-conditioning. The aux heater has fired up, I can hear it and smell it. Maybe I imagined it asking me about starting the engine.

Driving home last night, I put it in pure and I still got heat from the vents, although it seemed 'weak' even if I put the fan on full. So I assume everything is working as it should.

My previous car was a full EV and much simpler to understand!

Ahh, my bad. I thought (wrongly) that all Recharge models had electric pre-heating.

Yes, without the engine running, power for the seats, etc, would have to come from the hybrid batteries.

It stopped working as intended on my V90 T4 some time before Christmas.
It works if I use it few minutes after I turned off the car engine and locked the car. But it won’t work if I try to use it after car was parked few hours. I contacted Volvo chat and apparently they are aware and working on it. No eta for the fix.
