1.8 GDI Engine
What's wrong with the 1.8 GDI engine. Loking back at various threads I get a very negative feel about it. I've got one, admittedly my 1st Volvo, but I think its great. I'm getting about 35mpg from it and that's largely about town. Any thoughts...

I have one too mate, and like you am very happy with it.
The issues with the fuel injectors coking up and high cost of Cam-belt replacement seem to be the biggest negatives that keep being mentioned. |

Its a good car mate, some people have had issues with them as per the other threads but if driven properly and using the correct fuel they will give many years of service. The main issue is the Mitsubishi engine that was used in the GDI, but as said use the correct grade of fuel and give it an Italian tune up once a week it should be ok.
