Yes, it is possible. You'll need stalk + software.

thanks for the information

from the look of things i might already have the stalk as the one fitted in the car does have the button on the end and the bit that turns round and round.
Is it just a software update then if I have the correct stalk ??

thanks again

well when i looked on the volvo v50 car configurator page before christmas it said it was a £250 option when building a new car, strange just looked this morning and it now no longer says you can build a V50 with the D5 engine !! just the 2L diesel only

Also looking at getting the ipod/aux fitted for the car

thanks again

Hi,

Chumley did you ever get a quote from volvo to add the info centre onto your car??

I have recently taken delivery of a new V50 and regret not adding it as an extra so looking to add it now.

Hi,

Has anyone got the trip computer add-on work done by Volvo?

I phoned up one of the dealers in Edinburgh today asking about this, they asked for my registration number then quoted me £250 for a new dashboard, parts only! He said that as my car had left the factory without a trip computer, it would need one to be fitted, whereas I thought it was just a software thing.

Is that definitely right? I've got a stick with the turning bit, reset button, messages button and messages screen. There is one trip counter reset button on the dashboard.

Did I just get through to someone at Volvo who made a mistake, or are there lots of different types of setup?

Mine's a 2008 V50 diesel 2 litre estate.

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

I just got a quote for this from a Volvo dealer - £536.98 + vat. Expensive, but worth it as the software will be installed and it will all be gauranteed!!!
Cheers.
