Default Noise and Vibration ?

Since a spin up in deep snow my 98 xc seems more noisy and vibrates at speed.
I dont know if i,m just imagining this or not. It feels like its a bit more noisy when the power is applied, and the vibrations come in over 50mph. I checked the ATF level and it was below minimum on hot level after a run, could this make the box noisy? The vibrations are on the steering wheel, could be the badly kerbed alloy, and also in the seat as if from the rear. Any ideas out there, as i cant see spinning the wheels for a minute would cause any damage.

Hi Pacman, sounds similar to something I experienced last year. My vibration was throught the steering and the seats, felt it more on a right hand turn, and the source was from the passenger footwell. In the end I replaced the nearside driveshaft, and eventually had to repalce the hub as the bearing sounded dry. Since then (splinters from scratching head), it has been fine.

Just hope yours is a lot less expensive than this.

Ėt was the front nearside. The vibration was felt throught the seats. The worrying thing was the prop shaft had been off for a replacement exhaust manifold gasket, but thankfully the prop shaft was not the culprit.
