Arrow Mod to mute the centre speaker

Hi George et al,

The SOT043 lead does the trick, ive also worked out a mod that mutes the centre speaker on the HU850/Dolby setup if anyone is interested pm me. Avoids the the expensive mute box lead that parrot suggest,

Wee update peeps...

Finally got the time to attack this at the weekend. The speaker connection was indeed tucked away behind the right air vent - there really isn't a whole lot of space for all the cabling of the SOT-043, but I managed to tuck it all away. Parrot unit is sitting on the RH middle vent, the mic is at the top of the A-pillar. Was so chuffed with myself that I forgot to grab a pic or two, but I went for the black Parrot so it blends into the dashboard.

Thanks to everyone for their posts and advice, would've had this sorted ages ago but was never near the car!

I always mount my Tomtom there find it easier an doesnt obscure the road view.

Finally got a pic or two of the final install, have to say I'm chuffed with how well it works and how well it blends with the dash, stealthy!

Another big thanks to everyone who chipped in advice and pics etc on this thread, cheers folks!

I want to relocate my microphone to that position. It's currently near the rear view mirror, and I'm aware that I sound 'distant'. Some might say that's a good thing...

cheers

James

You should sound ok if mic is located near the mirror, are you sure theres not another problem with your system?

It works fine, but the signal / noise ratio isn't what it could be. The difference in distance is quite significant (more than 30cm), and that is quite significant in such a noisy environment.

cheers

James
